Police responded to reports of an incident near a store on Howard Road in Glenorchy at approximately 1:35 pm on Sunday afternoon.
Tasmania Police allege that two men approached the rear of the store and stole an item. It is further alleged by police that an employee of the store then approached the men and was subsequently assaulted.
The employee was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital to receive medical assistance for what police described as a small knife wound. Tasmania Police have since stated that the employee has been released from the hospital.
