Two individuals have been charged by Tasmania Police in connection with a series of alleged incidents that occurred in the Ouse area on Monday, 7 September. The pair are scheduled to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, 8 September.

Tasmania Police reported that officers were called to the Ouse area shortly before 1 am on Monday after the pair allegedly attempted to enter a business. Following this, police allege they gained entry to a nearby convenience store, stealing a quantity of cash before leaving the scene.

A vehicle believed to be linked to these incidents was later located by attending officers after it had crashed into an embankment on the Lyell Highway a short time later.

Further allegations from Tasmania Police state that an Ouse resident reported two people had entered his property and attempted to steal an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) around 3:15 am. During this alleged incident, the resident sustained minor injuries to his face but did not require medical attention.

A 21-year-old woman from Franklin and a 26-year-old man from Kingston were taken into custody shortly before 4 am, after being located by patrolling police walking along Ellendale Road.

The woman has been charged with multiple offences, which Tasmania Police allege include attempted aggravated armed robbery, wounding, burglary, stealing, attempted burglary, and trespass. She also faces charges of resisting police, along with drug and firearms offences.

The man has also been charged with multiple offences, including attempted aggravated armed robbery, wounding, burglary, stealing, attempted burglary, trespass, and other driving and bail-related offences, according to Tasmania Police.
